Purchased new 2013 Silverado 2500 Z71. Bed of truck is about4" higher than the 2004 I traded in. Moved Pullrite sliderto new truck and the clearance from bottom of overhang on the5th wheel to the truck bed top is too low. The King pin boxhas 6 bolts on each side. Can this be adjusted by my selve ordo I need to take into shop.Thanks.

You can adjust the king pin box, but it is heavy. Best to have two people on hand when you do it.BK

Sure, if it's like mine, and, it's not already at its highest setting. It may take a breaker bar to loosen the bolts. I had to raise mine (drop the 'insert' out of the 'receiver' to clear my rails.One tip.. it is heavy but you can use the truck bed and your 5er front electric jacks to raise/lower it by gently placing the king pin on the bed.

If you lower the king pin 4" to clear the bedside of your new truck then your fifth wheel will most likely sit 4-6" high in the front now. This was my problem with a new Dodge Ram. I have to flip the axles on my triple axle toy hauler.

I have a 2007 Dodge 4x4 with stock suspension. My new 5th wheels pin sits at 48" off the ground which was perfect with my superglide. Trailer sits almost perfectly level.

I had the same problem i went from a dodge 2500 to a 3500 dually. When i hooked 5ver up i had 3 1/2 " clearance so i raised the 5ver hitch in the bed of truck buy 2 inches i eneded up with 5 1/2: inches and on level ground my trailer is approx, 1/2-3/4 inch high in front i took these measurments on level ground

You are correct. It's commonly referred to as "flipping the axles" but technically you leave the axles in the same direction as not to affect the curve in the axles but you move them from above the springs to below the springs. Dexter makes a kit specifically to do this.

Use new bolts on that pin box. And they are right, it's heavy :E As suggested use your truck bed and landing gear and all four arms :W
