new truck cost!!

Mmmmm...240z! I had a 78 280z, miss that little car, clearly my younger years.

BTW both of the 98 RAM's I have owned are US MADE in StLouis. Still have one. My 11 RAM was Mexico and 240z Japan. Every other vehicle has been US MADE.

I have made it clear more than once I don't like that my truck is. "ASSEMBLED" in Mexico with mostly US Made parts. But for ME it's the best choice.

As far as EGO BOOST that saying has been around no difference than EGO DIESEL. They are just ways to have some fun.

The new and used pricing on modern trucks is amazing. The best I can recommend is to get one in a lower to mid-range trim level that's made to tow (with the right gearing, transmission, etc). They seem to be the most in demand on resale and you seem to get the most out of them.

Well...if he isn't careful, he'll hurt my ego. ;)

Hey that "EGO BOOST" label does not come free! If you step up to a HD Ford with Diesel be aware the engine is Made in MEXICO.

Either way, the Ecoboost is no joke. It is a monster tower for the half ton platform and has proven its longevity.

Oh thats just Cummins, he gets a little sensitive about the fact his trucks made in Mexico :p

Why would you trade in a 1yr old truck? Doesn't sound like they gave you anything for it if your still paying 75K for the new one. Am I missing something?

Reminds me of when I was 16. A basic econobox was about $7k, I got an S-15 for $6.5k.

Then again, I want to thank all you guys out there buying new. Including a little bit of work I was aware of when buying, our current F250 came in at around $7k. I'm sure in a few years, I will be able to pick up a $85k truck for around $10k.

True, very true. Yesterday I traded in my 1996 C1500 with a 5.7L. I did put a Jasper Transmission and crate motor back in 2011. I was at a point I had corroded brake lines, already blew one out back 10 years ago. It was eating brake fluid but never found where it seeped out. Ate coolant a little here and there, I could never get the lower hose tight enough, despite putting in a new HD calling radiator. I had a bunch of other things need fixing, cosmetic and all.

I threw in the towel for my used 2011 F150 EB Lariat. It has a lot of miles, 100,000, but I paid much less than sticker, increased my tow capacity and creature comforts; which to me have some importance.

I choose used over new as I did not want that much payments for limited capacity and will be retiring in 10 years. I cannot justify new, at least at this point in time.

Have not towed yet so I will report later but cannot wait.

Back to the topic. Yes, $50k is a lot of cash, that is why I keep my trucks for a long time.
