  • Thanks for the replies, Now I feel better about making this purchase.
  • Our 2014 Ram 3500 fits through our 7 ft door with no problems. The antenna did hit, so I cut off about 4". No noticeable loss of radio reception.
  • Dang, I never gave the antenna a thought. The F 250 one has been rattling along the door going in an out now for 4 years. :h
  • I was worried for my 3500
I actually test drove it to my house. I guaranty it will not look like it will go in or out. I did take off my antenna. need to find a smaller one.
I only have less than an inch when pulling in or out. so far so good.

It should fit but it'll be tight. I have a three car garage with three separate doors and each of them has an arch built into the top. My antenna hits the arch on the right side going in and out so it's close, but the truck itself fits fine.

I had this same exact problem.

I had to get a shorter antenna for my 2016 F250. The garage door is 7 ft (84 inches), but the attachment loop for the chain dropped down to 80 inches, due to the adjustment extension on it.

I removed the loop with a screwdriver and a wrench, and guessed the adjustment point 2 holes up on the pivot arm. Might take a little fiddling, but it's a piece of cake.

That took it up to 82 inches. Truck clears by 1.5 inches.

Measure the height of the lowest point on the garage door, then take the tape measure with your and measure the truck.
  • In many cases a 7' garage door will not have an actual 7' opening. It is best to measure opening with door up to get actual inches available.

If possible, take the truck home for a test fit/test drive.

Kind of like putting a 12' FW in a shed with a 12' door. The shed door opening will be closer to 11' 8"s.

  • Perty sure you'll be fine. Haven't seen a stock pickup yet that won't get in a 7' garage door. Just bring a straight edge and tape measure to be dealer if you're concerned.
  • My antennae hits the door which is just below the entry way. I only pull into the garage for maintenance
