Guess it depends on the dealer. Looking for a new King Ranch Expedition for my wife two yrs ago. Local dealer had some, but did not have the color she wanted. My salesman searched other dealers in the area and found two. Simultaneously, I was also searching other dealers within 30-40 miles and found the same two, and the prices they listed. (Pretty easy to do your own searching) The salesman negotiated with one of the other dealers to get that Expy in exchange for a Transit van the other dealer wanted. And he sold it to us for the same price as the ones on his lot, equally equipped. And that price was quite a bit lower that those other dealer's "internet price". With a trade like that, I would guess the hold back is also traded.
