Thedieselpage.com folks put a DA combo into a 90's body style pickup a number of years back. IIRC it took a body lift to fit the ally into the rig. If you can find the old articles on the site, that might give you an idea of how it went.
When I was at the dmax factory in sept of 2001, they had a 90s rig with a dmax in it, but a 4l80e was behind it. Made some speed record trip up Pikes Peak at the time.
I've thought about a 6.0/6l90 in my 2000 c2500, but that will probably not happen in my lifetime. It would be a good combo for me!
