^^^A lot of truth in that Gritdog, coming from someone who has traded 2 trucks recently. I had a bought new 1982 F250 with the old 300 straight six cylinder and 4 speed manual. Put a cabover on it that I bought from a co-worker on a whim. Had to add overloads. Drove it all over the country. It had 7.50x16 bias plies. Had one blow-out in Wyoming. I had no idea what that old camper weighed, mostly because I had no idea what a CAT scale was.
No mechanical failures, but when I sold it the rear end was howling and the transmission would jump out of gear at every railroad crossing.
