You WILL forget something. It is not an "official" camping trip unless you do. LOL

For food, I plan every meal for each day, write down ingredients and how much, and include your family's normal snacks/juice/etc.. When you are on an extended vacation, planning food is easier, as you just do your normal household shopping, just less of it, and more often.

Go to the top of this page in the blue bar and click on "Rving FAQ." There are multiple check lists their for you.

DO NOT over think it! Relax and enjoy yourself. One of the biggest mistake a lot of people make is to over pack. We live by the simple rule that if it is not used in 3 trips, it goes out. Make your first trip close by or at least near a Walmart in case you do forget something. As suggested, keep a running list with pen and paper.
As for food, we do all of our cooking outdoors, so think grill and camp stove type items. One thing I did was to create a "meal Planner." Its not a hard rule to stick with but it helps when shopping to know what we need. We don't over buy at the grocery store

Always have paper, pencil and flashlight. The paper and pencil are for when you are trying to cook, clean, etc and can't find what you need in the trailer. You immediately write that item down and when you get home you purchase all the new found necessities and put them in the trailer. Another item that messes me up sometimes is knowing ahead of time whether or not to fill the fresh water tank. Does the destination have water hook ups?

Should start walking again in a couple of weeks. :) Before the accident, I would "camp" in my driveway every Friday night with my kids.. I'm feeling good enough to do this again tonight for the first time in 7 weeks. I fractured my pelvis, leg, foot and wrist, plus a dislocated shoulder in my accident on Aug 2.

I look at several of them, compile my own, then spend a few days and nights in your trailer in your driveway, doing everything you normally would, such as cooking, etc.. Every time you go back into the house for something, add it to your list.

We keep our FW stocked with everyday essentials (toilet paper, paper towels, dishes, silverware, pots/pans, dish detergent, 409, broom, dust pan, towels, sheets, blankets etc.). We keep a small gas grill in the basement along with camp chairs, lantern, rug, water hose, leveling blocks, chocks, sewer hose etc. We pack appropriate apparel for where we are going, necessary toiletries, and food each trip. My husband works out if his truck so tools stay in there 24/7. Keep it simple and have fun!
