Your 2008 model trailer however will not have a smart mode converter/charger unit on it and you really should replace the older converter/charger unit for a modern multi-stage smart mode charging unit.
My 2007 TrailCruiser, manufactured in 2006, had a WFCO 8900 series 3-stage converter / charger in it and I'd bet the OP's does as well as that was what R-Vision was using at the time. From what I've read over the years it seems to be a favourite forum pastime to bag WFCO converters but I've owned 4 of them over the years in four different trailers including my current Freedom Express and have never had any issues at all with any of them. The OP earlier referred to this as "beginner's luck" ... it's not, it's simply a matter of not understanding how the various systems in a trailer are designed to work and understanding what to do about it when they don't. Based on the limited information the OP is providing who's to really know what the OP's issue is ... they'd be best off to have someone who knows what they're doing look at it, not rely on wild internet guesses, well intentioned as they may.
