You are taking a pretty big step here. You have to know how much TT your TV can handle first. Secondly, a 30 foot TT towed by a short wheelbase TV does not make for an easy tow even for experienced towers with a proper setup. Thirdly I agree with those who say if you are "petrified" you shouldn't be putting you, your family, and others in danger.
My advice is to take smaller steps. Get a small motorhome or a smaller TT for your first experience. You may need to upgrade your TV too as I know nothing about your vehicle. You have to know what your vehicle is capable of and not rely on what others tell you it is capable of. The same goes for your trailer and setup. You need to know the weights are, and if your hitch is the proper one for what you are pulling. I realize that this information is coming after you made your RV purchase but sometimes it is better to make a safer choice rather than white knuckling down the highway.
My hat is off to you for wanting to make a camping experience for your girls. They won't enjoy their experience if their Mom is totally frazzled when you arrive at the campsite.
Also make sure you need a generator where you plan to camp. Many campgrounds have electrical hookups so a generator would not be needed. Big generators make big noise so planning to run one all day or all night may not be allowed. Good luck to you and sincerely hope you can make it work for you.
