Make sure you consider your usage realistically, IMO pay particular attention to holding tanks and weights. The sizes they claim in 'specs' can be hugely different than reality as well so take specs with a grain of salt.
As this is your first foray into trailer camping, I would strongly recommend getting something used. If you don't end up liking the experience the education will be cheaper.
And look around the various manufacturers. I would start searching for articles on 'travel trailers for mid size SUV' or the like, then poke around the manufacturers sites. When I was looking I had a spreadsheet with all of the specs for all the trailers (as well as other information) so it's easy to compare.
Point is I think your search should be as broad as possible, if you go to the local RV dealer you'll only be exposed to a few brands... you may find something perfect that you'll have to drive 100 miles for because there are no local dealers.
