9100 is a comfortable range to work with. We bought a Coleman Lantern 262BH that weighs about 5500 dry. Super slide, sleeps more than what you need. My rating on the Suburban is 8200 and it tows fine. I'm more like 6500 at ready to go camping weight. That's still well under the 8200. For 5 people get as much trailer as fits into your budget and still well under the tow limit.
Are you looking to finance or pay cash? If you're going to finance then I'd spend a little more and get way more trailer for not that much more weight. You wouldn't want to be upside down on a loan and hate what you have. If you get something that really doesn't meet your needs then you'll be looking to trade up or quit camping all together. Get one and be done with it for a while. Don't waste money trading in a couple of years.
