Newbie: it appears tank hoses don't come with new trailer
Is this normal? If so I assume I need to buy some...for dumping etc. Got any recommendations?

Seems to depend on the dealer but maybe in today's seller's market they don't feel like they need to give any freebies.
But you probably don't want it anyway, the free hose I got with my RV is the cheapest possible hose that probably cost the dealer $5. I stuck it in the back of a storage compartment "just in case", but have never used it.
You'll get as many different opinions here as there are brands, my preferred hose is the Camco Rhinoflex, with a clear fitting on the end so I can see when the tank is running clear.
