If I was shopping for a new camper, I would be shopping every brand that was not part of the Thor Industries dynasty. I know a few people that dumped their Thor products and gone to Forest River, they are happier than pigs in stuff.
Airstream is owned by Thor Industries. Airstream is in my mind an overpriced American icon. I owned an '86 Sovereign the first year of the Thor take over. The only good thing I have to say about it is it towed like a dream.
Not all four season campers are created equal when you are looking for a four seasons camper, you will want to research the construction methods, materials used and how the tanks are heated. Does it have tank heaters or is relying on a dump of heat out of the heating ducts. It can make the difference between freezing the tanks or not.
Roof thickness varies greatly by manufacturer, as do the walls. Make sure that the windows are double glazed, some so called four season campers don't have dual paned windows. We have found an incredible difference in the heat that the dual panes keep out in the summer and in in the winter.
When you narrow down you search and go shopping pick, pull and prod. If stuff falls off on the dealers lot, they get to fix it before you buy it.
When you go for the PDI on a unit that you have purchased, leave your emotions at home. Take writing material and make a list of anything that needs repair. Don't take delivery until everything is to your satisfaction. Dealers want sold units off their lots, so they tend to make things right a lot faster than if you take delivery and agree to come back on their schedule.
