Newbie Question About Tie Downs

Hi everyone! im really excited to say ill be moving out of my apt and getting a truck camper soon. I have a 2006 ford F350 SRW which ill be pairing with a 2019 Eagle Cap 811. I am in the process of searching for proper tie downs and i was looking online at etrailer.com but there seems to be a wide variety and im on a tight budget. Any suggestions? thanks !

We use torklift on our Ram 3500 SRW, and they do a good job of holding our S85RS Ascent Camper down. Expensive, yes, but definitely worth the price of admission.

ill keep an eye out for yours on craigslist :)

I had a nationwide Craigs List search running for months looking for Torklifts and every set that popped up was for a Ford, so I wound up ordering new ones. If you have some lead time, set up a CL search and see if youc an score a deal. If you buy new tie downs, Tweety's has the best prices on Torklifts.

ok thanks, im going to search around.

I used brophy mounts all summer. I gathered torklift on the used market and I bet either craigslist or facebook marketplace will yield some torklift mounts on the used market.

thanks a lot, i saw the Brophy set, it was pretty much the only one i can afford right now. I was confused about the turnbuckle's for those. It seems i need to purchase them seperately? and also i looked online for videos and could not see any on how to actually fasten the turnbuckle to the camper. I found 5-10 videos on the Brophy tie downs and instructions on how to fasten the tie down to the truck bed but none about fastening the camper to the turnbuckle!

  • I’d rate them in order from best on down:
    Torklift
    Hapijac
    Brophy.

And those are basically the only options I’m aware of.
As said, you have a very popular model of truck, should be able to score some used mounts if you keep your eye out for some. That would be the best low budget alternate save for making your own.
