Newbie travel trailer buyer question - to slide out or not

I have and older Fleetwood 27' with the supper slide. I wouldn't have anything else. I can navigate inside with the slide in if needed. maintenance is minimal mine has the Acu Slide that's run by cables, I had the end pull off of one of the cables it took me a half hour to easly replace the cable. the only tools required were a crimper, cable cutter, one end wrench and a Philips screw diver.
