Newbie travel trailer buyer question - to slide out or not

I recently visited a luxury hotel parking lot alongside an entertainer prevost bus. The driver commented on our coach and no slide. He missed the older million dollar coaches, slides are a huge problem as the miles rack up. Leaks in heavy rain soak carpets. Wind noise.

Speaks volumes.
