Saying the new ones have all the problems solved is not totally accurate as my friend with a one year old $200,000 motorhome can attest. She has had hers to the dealer once and the factory twice to correct problems with the slides.
I have had three RV's with slides and small problems with all three; minor leakage, seals misaligned, squareness issues, etc. I don't want or need a slide these days. No one to impress and it is usually just me, so floor space is more than adequate without the potential problems associated with slides. Might not matter to some, but no slides are easier to heat and cool also. Matters when "you" are the one paying for the electricity.
