Not always. I've owned both slide and non-slide trailers and am not advocating anything either way ... buy what you want. :) Our current trailer is the first we've owned with a slide and we really do enjoy the extra space it creates even though it's just a shallow sofa slide. However, I'm nevertheless always aware that this slide, as any slide, is a potential point of failure, with one sure way of avoiding it being to simply buy a trailer without any slides. Some just see that in their particular situation as being preferable to having more interior space ... it's really that simple. :W
