People often buy what they prefer and have a reason for that preference. There is great benefit in pointing out those reason, which others may concur or disagree.
Like buying a vehicle. If a sunroof is not of interest, it isn't a selling point that can be used to negotiate a higher price. But if you really want one... ;)
A slide in a smaller camper helps reduce the need to "single file" when walking from one part to another with multiple people.
Ours has overhead cabinets that go out with the slide, allowing more storage space without putting our heads in so much danger, LOL.
I don't think anyone mentioned LIGHT. When our slide is out, we have two additional windows on the living room slide that are good for more light, view, or airflow- whatever we want. We have days shades and night shades, which also keeps it private when we want.
We're often "loungers" when inside. Not just sitting on formal furniture.
But slides do usually add extra cost and weight. But once you've paid for the bigger tow vehicle, not a big deal, IMHO. It is one key reason we moved up to an Excursion diesel and upgraded the suspension to 1 ton. So it can be a cost driver on that end.
