A lot depends on your lifestyle going forward and what kind of lifestyle you can live with. Some folks aren't happy unless they have all the amenities and four slideouts, allowing the most room possible. Some folks would be happy in a tent but a trailer is easier to setup and move.
The fiberglass egg trailers like Casita, Scamp, etc. are light weight and very durable. They sell at somewhat of a premium. Airstream is also easily towable but the most $$$/ space contained.
There are, of course, other trailers available that are light weight and totally livable. I'm sure you'll see a thousand of these at the Hershey show.
If you plan to full-time during the Winter in the Northern states, you'll probably want to choose a trailer that is well insulated, having the appropriate tank heaters and such.
