Regarding adding DEF, Ford had the better idea, who placed the fill pipe next to the diesel fill. GM blew it regarding convenience in refilling as they put the filler on the firewall on the passenger side. I’ve filled my diesel and DEF from the same parking spot, but it takes precise positioning as the DEF hoses usually aren’t very long and just make it stretching it across the engine bay to reach the filler pipe. Some stations have DEF pumps on both sides which simplifies the process. Someone with a Dodge will speak up as to how those work, as I don’t know how they accomplish their refill procedure.
