"Troll" is having several definitions, but in this case the one who applies is
"person who having no arguments in the dispute revers to personal attacks"
Adding more to the main dispute. New technology is exciting when it works, but can be nightmare when it doesn't.
My 440 HP truck is a beast in traffic and with 6000lb camper still average close to 13 mpg.
But driving Mercedes diesels for decades - the DPF and AddBlue with dozens of $500 sensors that "like to fail occasionally" -choosing the dependable vehicle is hard decision.
To top it, manufacturers on new vehicles invented SCN codding, where even if you manage to replace sensor, you still have to go to dealer for coding who require subscription.
Bottom line, several diesel owners sold newer cars and bought older models, who did not have all those electronics.
MPG will suffer, but they drive without much worries.
With trucks you don't have that many choices. The 7.3l Fords I sold were beaten up, noisy and HP suck, but if you own one of them in good shape >>> keep it.
