Beside engineering flaws, you will always find vehicles assembled on Friday before long weekend and those assembled on days when employees are well rested after vacations.
I had 6L Ford and it did perform well... till I hook up 18,000 lb trailer to it and took it on grades.
EGR bulletproofed, new oil cooler.
Had to be bolts letting the head lift under heavy pressure.
