I bought 2nd year of Mercedes assembly in Alabama. Not only new crew starting the plant, but also new digital technology.
Those SUV had one of the worse reliability records in automobile history.
Yet our truck drove in family for 13 year with total of $350 parts that failed.
Fellow owners seldom ended a year without spending over $2000 on their models.
