After reading this post I think that all trucks have their problems they are mechanical. Drove my son's 2011 6.7 F-350 nice truck quiet lots of power so far no real problems just leak in fuel line, bad gasket, but terrible fuel mileage, I have a 1995 F-350, noisy, not the best in HP, fuel mileage is good as I get about 4 mpg more than the son's (but my foot isn't as heavy) cost I find is about $2000.00 a year in repairs for an old truck but no truck payments, a new truck in Canada is about $100,000 with taxes and I don't want to spend my retirement funds on truck payments so hence 1995 no payment truck.
no DPF and parts are cheap, new turbo installed $1900.00, new truck 4 to 5 thousand. if you can handle the repairs and down time keep your old truck, if you opt for a newer truck you can be in the same boat but it seems the newer trucks don't have that many problems as seen on this post you really have to decide for yourself.
