No Ford F series pickup trucks for a while

Once existing stock is sold, until Meridian Industries in Eaton Rapids gets back online (or Ford finds another supplier for it's magnesium alloy components, the F series is out of production.

They had a devistating fire this week that consumed the production area. Meridian produces magnesium alloy components for Ford, GM and FCA, but, both GM and FCA have other sources, Ford don't.

Meridian is Chinese owned btw.
  • “Ford don't” The sky isn’t falling. All will be well.

“Meridian is Chinese owned btw.” So you’ve concluded the CHINESE burned their own factory. Brilliant!

    By the way...
  • And
General Motors is shutting down production at four plants, including its flex line in Oshawa, Ont., for two weeks due to a part supply issue caused by the recent earthquakes in Japan.

The automaker said the shutdowns, which start April 25, will also include assembly plants in Spring Hill, Tenn., Lordstown, Ohio, and Fairfax, Kan.
