No Heat - Regulator ?

I guess it depends on if you believe the technician about the Costco propane. If you believe the tech then yes don't run it on your trailer and find alternative uses for it.

You could also try sending an email to Costco corporate asking what they use in the bulk tank at that location. I'll bet you get an answer from them which might help you make a decision.

Could use them on your household grill. They will keep for years. Maybe your friends and neighbors would like to use some up on there household grill .

I replaced both of my hoses with larger/longer ones to reach the two 25 gallon bottles I have for long stays. Seems to work a lot better than the thin/short hoses supplied.

Seems the older metal lines to the regulator have less of these issues. The regulator on my '72 trailer is finally going out. It froze up the other morning but a few taps from the crescent wrench put it back in service.

I had a Pigtail leaking, New Pigtail was different looking, but my RV dealer could not tell me why. Now I know. Thanks.

Yep it's the pig tails, had that happen to me will drive you nuts until you know that's there are check valves in there, I bought 2 reg's trying figure that one out. Worked with gas ( nat gas) for years only replace a few gas valves. Went to a RV place to get some answers and the guy at parts counter said there are check valves in the pig tails, replace the suspect hose , that worked.

May have a higher % of Butane content.

Glad to hear you have resolved your current problem.
Regulator should be able to maintain the proper pressure/flow with ALL gas appliances in service.

The technicians rant on the cheap is cheap discussion was that it is of lesser quality. Said it was not as pure and that residue will build up in the lines and fittings. I can't comment on this as fact but feel it is the only explanation for both valves to fail. I have only used my heat one night in the 3 years we have had the trailer, the stove has seen minimal use as most cooking is done outside, it's the side that was failing worst.

Of note. Today at the rv service department i asked to talk to the technician, explained my history and diagnosis. He right away asked where i get my gas and if it was Costco. Says Costco caused my valve issue as their gas is cheap cus its cheap. He said their gas will clog/damage any system over time or prolonged sitting if not bled out. I have always bleed it out but realized the worst pigtail was my primary tank (most used) so there may be some truth there.

Hi, you said the Costco gas is cheap because it's cheap. ? What do you mean by this? Is it contaminated with other stuff? How can bad propane hurt your system? Because it's got water in it that causes corrosion? Or, are there other issues. I have heard that down south the propane has other gases mixed in with it that freeze when you get up north. I'm just asking because I'm curious. I've always heard good things about Costco. I sometimes buy my propane from the closet place available and want to learn what to watch out for. Have a nice Day.
