Given that electric motors are well over 90% efficient, and that even coal generation (37%) is more efficient than ICE (30% in an ideal world, and 20% if it isn't) I think your statement that ice is more efficient is nonsense. Transmission line losses in an ideal world are 1 to 2%.
If renewable energy is put in the mix, with distributed generation (i.e. solar panels on the roof), your argument of transmission losses is false.
I'd love to have a Scion electric vehicle.
