If you don't actually need more than 5 amps or so, get the 2000w inverter and you will be super happy and herald it's quietness and fuel economy endlessly whenever one of these threads comes up. You could buy the Honda or the Champion inverter for about half the price for almost the same quality level.
If you live and camp down south during the summer and actually need to draw some power from your genny, the inverter gensets are not quite so quiet or fuel efficient at that point. Ever camped next to someone with 2 Honda EU2000i's screaming away in unison while they make a cup of coffee and run the AC in the morning? I would rather hear my Champion 3500 puttering away than that high pitched racket.
Now that we have the MH, the Champion sits in the garage all year. It still starts on the 1st pull if I didn't drain the float. If I did, I have to give it about 5 pulls or so.
Champion is a good company and sells a damn good product. Often you do get what you paid for. You can pay almost twice as much for about 5% increase in quality however.
