FOO,
That is true, but the product will still aid in the rest of the system. Only thing I can say is to try the HSS and if it works, awesome. If it doesn't, has a money back guarantee. It won't hurt the engine. If still in doubt, can always call them.
As for the Motorkote, no money back guarantee, but here again, try it and see for yourself.
Truckers swear by both products and they have also used them in their personal vehicles w/ great results. When I had my '03 F250 w/ the 6.0, I started using HSS around 80K (50K on motor) and ran it til I got rid of it at 160K. Lost just 1 inj towards the end, but that was due to an electrical issue w/ it. So in this case, I know HSS saved me from losing injectors. I've also used both HSS & MK in both my '15 F350 SRW & '17 F350 DRW and can honestly say the temps were cooler and gained couple mpg's as well as some extra oomph.
Many call items like this snake oil and same folks will use Lucas or Power Serve and say they are great, but won't try something different. Yes MK was originally aimed at semi use, but since as expanded greatly. If you ever used Rain-X or Slick 50 (in the day), MK is vastly superior to Slick 50. Rain-X, well nothing has beat that yet. And yes HSS was developed for Navistar, but here again, it can be used in all diesels regardless of injection system type and it will aid in cleaning out/off any burnt on oil and such.
If still not sure, simply call each one up and ask them your questions and concerns. You might feel all they are trying to do is sell you a product, but ask them for proof/videos. The MK bearing test should convince you about the friction it reduces.
