Your payload will be close to or maybe even under 1400lbs. Son has a 1500 Ram 5.7 CC Sport and the payload is 1420lbs. Before you get a crazy on the 30% off stuff, you need to seriously take a look at how many people are riding in your truck and how much they weigh. Check your drivers side door sticker for the max payload. Minus all passenger weights and whatever else you will haul in the truck while towing. Now go find a TT that you like and look at the sticker that's on the TT's door. It will have the shipping weight from the factory. Now figure 10-15% for tongue weight, (with 12% being optimal). Add 100lbs for a WD hitch. When all that's done then hit the dealer with your 30%+/- off MSRP. Don't use brochure weights as they can vary greatly. And no you can't tow pretty much any TT you want. Ram trucks generally have the lowest payload ratings of all the 1/2 ton truck makers. With 1/2 ton trucks it's not what you can tow it's how much can you carry.
