Where will be no V8 eco TV. I said this years ago on here. People said I was wrong and it will be out in 2 years or less. Kind of like finding Big Foot, I'm still waiting and some people still are saying it's going to happen.
What's to gain? They are already getting over 350 HP out of their V6. If they want more they can just turn the boost up. The whole idea of the Ecoboost is to have the economy of a V6 when power is not needed and have the power of a V8 when needed.
What is their ad slogan going to be if they came out with a V8 Eco?
"Burns fuel like a V8 when off of boost; burns fuel like 2 V8's when you need the power?" :B LOL
Why would anybody need 500 or 600+ HP in a TV anyway? The whole idea is silly. People are already whining about the fuel use of the 360 HP Eco V6. They would really whine about the fuel use of a 500 or 600 HP Eco!
Is Ford going to come out with a Shelby V8 Eco to make the Vett look stupid? Who knows, but they aren't going to put it in a F350 to tow a trailer around.
Very much sums it up. I am now wondering what Ford will come up with to beat the Ducato, IVECO, Sprinter in Europe and elsewhere? As they outsell the Transit by a fair margin in Europe and in Australasia - RobertRyanExplorer

Don you should of next asked him "what will replace the V10" ?
That is one question, they will not answer as it falls into future products, or more specifically details of a future product
And by saying what's not in the future can narrow the scope for more accurate speculation.
I for one think the 2nd gen 3.5 EcoBoost that's set to debut in the 2017 Raptor will find a home in the next generation Super Duty.
Very simply no, as you said yourself earlier .Outside NA , yes as it does affect them .i.e HD Superdutys are NA specific and will not be sold outside NA Either way they are not going to be specific about the details of products in NA or outside NA Only specifics regarding EB's is they will keep current capacity,As far as application that is speculation on your part - Turtle_n_PeepsExplorerWhere will be no V8 eco TV. Ford deserves the award. They earned it with the new F150.
Agreed. Ford has always been a risk taker and incorporating cutting edge technologies. This one is huge as the F-150 is their bread and butter. - hone_eagleExplorerDon you should of next asked him "what will replace the V10" ?
- v10superdutyExplorerRemember how the Ford engineers (and others) were denying the extent of aluminum to be used in the new F150's.
They were saying would have more aluminum panels but said definitely not the main cab structure. They were already built, "all aluminum"
Don, hope you were not wearing your "Ram" cap when you were questioning this guy.. :B :B :B :B :B - RobertRyanExplorer

Wait 2 more years for the SuperDuty aluminum body truck with the 5.0 EcoBeast. I'll be in line for that one. That'll have the new Sync in it also, get rid of that MicroSoft mistake.
That could be a very much non starter. It will be just a 5 litre turbocharged engine, not even mildly Ecoboost
If it gets turbos it will be a ecoboost, its what Ford does now.
Well DW and I went to the Detroit Auto Show and I talked to a Ford Powertrain Engineer and was told by him (already knew this) there will be no V8 Ecoboosts not now not ever. So that should end that discussion.
Don
Don,
Because someone at an Auto Show gave you an answer to a rumored product that currently is not on display or no public announcement means nothing!
You should already know this...
Don has said the same thing as a Ford Engineer here and they have used Ecoboost engines . He is on the money, end of story
Not disputing this rumored product, but engineers representing a car company typically don't acknowledge or deny future products. Even if the rumored product is false.
Maybe not in the US, but they tend to be much more specific here as what is in the pipeline. They can tell you what is NOT coming RobertRyan wrote:
