I have posted this before, I guess my 1988 Bigfoot is a freak. Only last year has it been under a shelter. Two windows leaked, but I caulked all of them. Obviously this is a 28 year old TC. It is not without flaw, but most are due to age. I still marvel at how tight the cabinets fit.
I have had several stick TCs over the years, none with slides. None of them came close to 28 years. All required serious repairs, due to water leaks. I think the quality of work was pretty good in all of them, certainly as good as any house I have lived in.
I am convinced that if you can prevent water leaks, most of the TCs would last well over 30 years. I am also convinced your best chance of keeping water out is with a molded fiberglass TC, followed by an Aluminium skinned TC.
I think the OP made the correct choice. I would suggest close inspection of the cäulking. I would want to see the edge of butyl all the way around every window. As previously stated, I hope they did not use any silicon.
