I have a 2010 Adventurer bought new from Northstar and I'm very happy. Mine's filon but at the time I had the option of aluminum or filon skinned. I just checked the site and don't see aluminum as an option anymore. When I picked my camper up at the factory, they had a hail storm the preceding week and they were pulling several of their new aluminum skinned campers back into the factory from the parking lot to repair the hail damage. None of the filon skinned needed repaired. I can understand concerns about filon but knowing Northstar, IMHO, they wouldn't have dropped the aluminum if it really was superior.
I do have the Dometic thermal windows and like them as I frequently camp in colder weather. They are fragile and if you drive off without closing them they will break. But it's not like verifying the windows are closed and latched is the only thing I need to do before breaking camp...
BTW: If you have a certain feature you would like but don't see it as an option, don't hesitate to call Northstar and ask. When I asked Rex if they could build the Adventurer with dual propane tanks, even though the catalog only shows a single tank, there wasn't a moment hesitation before he said "No problem."
