I just called the dealership in Florida. They have not even looked at my truck yet. So they had it since Friday noon, and nothing yet. Of course Monday was a holiday. I am waiting for a return call as I type.
The local dealership who did the service said that they heard a clicking sound that made them check the torque converter. To my knowledge, that is how they found that problem. I will say that the engine sounded a lot better when I got it back and on the drive down to Florida before all the oil ran out.
The price I paid included Torque Converter replacement, some transmission pump thing replaced (they said the pump thing was necessary whenever the converter was replaced), an oil/filter change, air filter, fuel filter, full diagnostic, and 4 new shocks.
I will post the diagnosis when I find out. I just wish that they would realize that I am 6+ hours away and that my TC and trailer are vulnerable to damage while on their lot and give me a little priority in at least checking what the problem is.
Take Care, Del
