I had an 11.5 Lance back in the late 80's and early 90's.

Rig in sig. 56K miles. Nothing but tires, oil and filters. Zero problems. At 72 years old, last truck I will own.

I bought a 76 Ford Elite and ordered a 76 F250, dual tanks automatic and 390 engine. The Elite would jump in reverse from park and F250 kept blowing modulator valves . Swore I’d never buy another ford until, I ran through 70,s, 80’s, 90’s in dodges and Chevrolets. Had 4 super duty’s since 2002.

Tom & Ray, the Tappet brothers, once got a call from someone who was annoyed at getting only about 8,000 miles out of the brakes on their relatively new car. After some questioning from the boys, it was discovered that the guy drove while resting his left foot on the brake pedal. It took the lads a few minutes to convince the guy that both his brake and gas mileage would improve a lot by placing his foot on the floor.

I have a 2016 CC Silverado 4x4 LT All Star Edition Z-71 with the 6.0 and 4:10 gears with 53,554 miles on it. It’s a beautiful rock solid truck. Nothing about it is fuel efficient for sure. But it’s smooth, quiet, comfortable and dependable. I bet over the last year I’ve had 1/2 dozen at least total strangers walk up to me in town asking if it was for sale. Obviously, it not! Love that truck!

At the current rate I rack up miles on my 2009 3500HD, it will take at least 15 more years before I hit 240k.

I bought the truck new and it just hit 76k this year.

I just sold my 2002 6.0, it had 268,004 miles on it. I got 225k out of the original brake pads. Great truck.

I’m want info to go to about a 12k lb 5th wheel, so I bought a new truck, and switched to a Ford with the 7.3 Godzilla in it, and it is a huge power improvement. Hopefully since Ford copied the LS, it will last a long time.

We have an 09 6.0 GMC with 86000 miles on it. Still on the original brake pads. I polished the headlights this year. The drivers seat has a small tear in it. The dash has a couple of cracks.

The only mechanical problem so far has bee the transmission cooler lines had to be replaced because they were leaking. I'm thinking the shocks need to be replaced.

It has the common problem with the paint on the top of the cab drying out and cracking, starting to show a little rust in the cracks. Planning on getting it fixed this winter.

I never cared for these old Ford highboys.
They ride like a rock and have the worst power assist steering in the world
and the 4-wd looks like an aftermarket addon.
A very crude vehicle, but I like it. LOL

Totally agree. I had an 84 Chevy, 4X4, 3500 SRW with a 6.2L diesel. I put 250K on that pickup. Some years ago I contemplated buying one again, and put in a Duramax and Ali transmission. You know one of those projects that you put way more into than you could ever hope to get out of it. The Chevy dealer called me one day and said they just got an 85 3500 SRW gas truck in. The truck was in great shape, fully loaded Silverado. I test drove it 30 miles and brought it back. That cured my itch, it reminded me of driving a grain truck. So yeah, thankfully they don't build em like they used to.
