Not sure of the logic

Don't know if it's still the same since we're non-campers now, but we made reservations at a GA State CG and it was NOT site specific. When we pulled after a long, long drive, we found that unoccupied sites had been paid for by someone in a group, tossed out a couple of chairs - or not - and even though it looked relatively empty, we could not find a site. To say that DH was irritable is an understatement. We had our paperwork for our reservation and headed for the CG host. He apologized all over the place and after making several laps did find a site for us and it was very nice. But with a site being taken when there is no unit there and just putting up signs + not being able to reserve site specific meant that we weren't going to make that drive to find out we were out of luck. If you're thinking of GA, make sure you clarify.

when times are good the owner can choose what he wants, but I,d think the sight was not good for a TT.

We have had Park developer clients that requested a design that included nose forward Class A sites along a lake front. A TT or 5er would not have fit.

Some sites for MH's have the utilities on the opposite side for them to pull in. If that was so, they should have asked if you could use the utilities anyway.

I don't think there is any logic involved. The CG wanted a motor home in that site, not a TC.

I think it's similar to the 10 year rule at some campgrounds. They enforce it at their discretion.

Maybe it's time to find a new CG?

One more reason I like the state parks. We've never had our site moved on us. I don't like all the weird rules/signs at some of the private campgrounds either. I would call them and say you won't return because of what happened. Post an online review of the campground.

On another note, all the campgrounds that we have ever stayed at charged by the site, period. They didn't care what you parked there, as long as it fit, which of course, we always knew ahead of time. It has always been public campgrounds, federal, state, county, etc. for us, not commercial, if that makes a difference.
