I think the spare being an 18" LT is also because it needs to have close to the same load rating as the 20"? The 20's have a load rating of #2400 per tire @ 44 PSI. I know the placard says they are supposed to be @ 35 PSI, which is where they are now.
The tires are Bridgestone Dueller H/T, and are M+S rated, but they really look like a hwy tire more than anything.. At least compared to the A/T tires I had on the old F150..
