That would be completely wrong. The RV manufacturer is the responsible party, not the dealer.
....and I come back to my premise: It's MY responsibility to ensure the "basics" are right before pulling out of the driveway. I was not trying to be catty with the OP in my first response in this thread, when I pointed out that I checked all these things on a brand new TT before I left the driveway. Merely trying to point out to him and anyone else reading this, that it is simply good practice to look this stuff over. My torque wrench and tire pressure gauge are always in the truck. It takes just a few minutes, and at least for me, the peace of mind is worth it. I check the trailer brakes before leaving the driveway also by pulling on the jonny bar.
And again, the OP KNOWS all this....he is a truck driver !
Bottom line is after a failure, a person can blame the dealer, or the RV company or whomever they want, but that does little to change the fact that at the very least we as end consumer were inconvenienced. And obviously it could end being more than that.
