Better rule yet..
No FOOD "trash" kept INSIDE trailer.
We never leave any food leftovers, trash or even empty beverage containers inside our trailer for any reason while camping. Cuts way down on those unwanted ants and not to mention less chance of leaving anything behind to entice bigger problems like mice to come in and stay.
We keep a small 13 gallon trash container outside and when done prepping food, the scraps are immediately cleaned up and taken outside to the trash container.
Note to self: No FOOD "trash" kept outside the trailer in bear country
