I have always liked the concept of the A-Liner. I have a friend with one, and he replaced his older one with a more modern version, with a better floorplan.
What I would like to see is a pickup camper, about 10 or 11' long (cab to tail) with a 5 or 6 foot long cabover section. The A-frame could be 15 - 17' long panels that open side to side, and go the whole length of the camper! This would give plenty of headroom above the cab, and tall standing room inside the main galley. It can be built lighter and stronger than current cabover campers, with a bath, refrigerator, and full options.
The A-liner built down there should be great at fording rivers that sometimes share the roads into the outback. Many here do not imagine a roadway with 3' of water covering it for a mile or so! Or fording the rivers that can be 3' deep or more. In America, we got rid of city streets that also are water fording locations years ago, just after WW2.
In America, we have great paved roads to almost any location that we might want to go. Plenty of funds to make those rural roads possible in every state! With bridges and properly engineered roadways that are not located in the creeks anymore.
Happy camping!
Fred.
