Because an oil change is cheaper than an engine. And if you ever seen the inside of a motor that had extended oil change intervals you wouldn't be so quick to say go as long as you can! Why push it and possibly cost your self $5k to $10 or $12k!

So you don't think a lab that can tell you EXACTLY what shape your oil is in is any good? :R :S
No I don’t! If you change the oil at more frequent intervals you would never have to have your oil inspected!
