Oil vesocity for 6.7 powerstroke
Looking at the specs for the 6.7, it says 10w30 for normal use. Also see that 5w40 synthetic can be used in severe duty apps. Has anyone switched over to 5w40 for normal use? Does it hurt to do so? I ...

Thanks crew! Much appreciated!!!! Will run whatever oil came in it till it's due for a change and then throw in Rotella T6.
Just2shy is right on use of lighter weight oils for improved MPG's. It's even recommended in semi engines.
I still haven't even driven new truck yet. DW has. Need to get aftermarket accy's still. Sure is quiet. Next spring, I hope to replace stock fuel tank w/ a larger one from Transferflow. After having one for 11 years on the '03, seems like just the 150 miles ride back w/ truck it went thru 1/2 tank. Instant readout was saying 13 mpgs. Gotta feed the horses right? LOL
