Have you confirmed you have a tow vehicle capable of safely towing a trailer this size, along with all the junk you're inevitably going to want to drag along with you? Tip - don't expect the dealer to help much with this. ;)
I've got a 2015 F-150 Crew Cab with the V8. Towing numbers confuse me as well, but I think we're good.
I would say. IF the 150 has the 5.0, and a 3.73 rear gear. You are good to go with the TT you have chosen. At 27', it is a good length, and I seriously doubt it will EVER see much over 6500lb. You don't really have to take the sink out of you house along. (EXAMPLE. My Tt is 31 feet, was 4811lb dry. weighs loaded ready to camp, 6000lb. give or take 200lb depending on where it is going.) And if it does. Not really a problem for a 5.0, with a 3.73 rear. Of course, should it have a much higher geared rear, Say a 3.31 or higher. You lose some cushion.
BTW I am also a advocate of buying NEW. IF you buy new. You NEVER have to worry about how well the prev owner treated the camper. And not all of them do the maint like they should. And honestly. The way used TT are priced today. You may as well get new. Not that much difference in price, and you do get the warranty, and satisfaction of having a new TT. And great finance rates, and lengths if you finance. Plus contrary to what you have been told. Not every one trades campers often. Most keep their campers for a good long time. another perk to new. Every scratch is yours. No one has slept in it. cooked in it, showered, or any thing else in it.
