You are not weird! We do the same, especially love walking around CG to see what else is there, what folks have done with their rigs, the outdoor set ups.
When on the road, even freeways, we try to figure out what brands/models are coming toward us. We even get a little annoyed when we don't see any other RVers on the road. :)
On two lane/four lane non-divided roads we ALWAYS wave at oncoming RVers, too. We love to see how many people wave back!
