A lot of that has to do with the Aisin. While it is a work horse of a transmission, it is a very slow shifting transmission and it's torque management calibration doesn't like WOT acceleration. This is why even though the Aisin trucks have more power and torque than the 68RFE truck, there is a much greater gap between the Aisin trucks versus GM and Ford in most races. The 68RFE trucks are generally within a second while the Aisin trucks are more then that behind the competition.
