When it was posted that the ford f150 used Aluminum, which also contained magnesium. I asked what percentage it would need be, for magnesium to cause flammability. I got a good answer from one poster....

My original post wasn't meant solely to address magnesium. I stated my opinion. Then meant to speak to the wise *** remarks made by some posters.
I already had my answer concerning the magnesium content of aluminum. I explained that in my first post.
For those of you not concerned with magnesium parts in cars. What are your feelings about hydrogen powered cars. They are on the road now.
Most think nothing else but the Hindenburg when you mention a hydrogen vehicle.
Now what are your concerns about the use of magnesium in hydrogen powered cars.
As far as Lithium Batteries. Tesla has already recognized the fire hazard of the original production and has plans to improve safety. Are the lithium fires hot enough to ignite magnesium.
The Video of the full size F series truck that burnt was staggering. It burnt to the ground in 18 minutes. It was gone in those 18 minutes. A pile of molten metal that would fit in half a pickup bed.
My brother is a retired firemen. He drove a one man engine. It was those engines that were sent to vehicle fires. They contain 300 gallons of water and a 1 1/2 inch hose. And at that are way overloaded. There is no back up when they get to the scene and it may be a while before back up gets there on a crowded freeway.
For those Wise *** posters. Your remarks are not new nor have they ever been funny. I started on this board over 15 years ago. It is the same old remarks hashed over and over again.
Do you have anything new and informative to contribute? If not try taking up whittling. This forum is supposed to be informative not a comedy show. For comedy go to Around the Campfire. That is it's purpose.
When I hear a fanboy taking the stance some on this board has taken. I think car salesmen, the exact type of person I had hoped to avoid.
There are thousands of RV'ers who are afraid to post on these boards because of the fear of the idiotic remarks some of you have made. Why should a person come here for an answer. At least the car salesmen won't belittle me!
I come here occasionally in search of a answer. It appears some of you have found this board a home for you and your clique.
I went to a parade today.
Why don't some of you take a break. Go do some camping. Leave the board to those that are knowledgeable and can communicate that knowledge in a meaningful way.
