No one wants to live on $19k intentionally. It's miserable and you endure constant abuse and you do anything to get out. How many of these people have you actually talked to? Understand their story?
It's so very sad to see the utter lack of empathy everywhere.
So who do you help? ALL of them, or just the "good" folks? How do you decide?
I can tell you though, it would only be a small % of the total that would truly be better off and rise above the squalor if even MORE assistance was given than is already being doled out.
