One mechanics opinion about oil

I don't drive as much as many people do but I do typically keep my vehicles 20 years or more. I am approaching 60 and I have never had any major engine issues. I have always used the least expensive namebrand oil that I can find. I still have 3 kids driving cars that I own so I have 3 cars and 3 trucks with several well over 100,000 miles. I see no reason for me to pay for extra for one brand over another or to avoid mixing them. I do it all the time. I do stick with the viscosity of oil that is recommended, that is about it.
