I don't think so.

I must have missed it. Where exactly in the video does this guy say not to follow the mfrs recommendations? - Old-BiscuitExplorer IIII change my oil & filter every 5000 miles whether it needs it or not.....:B

I ran nothing but Amsoil in my 2004 Cummins running 25,000 mile oil changes and 10,000 mile filter changes. At around 110K I took it to the Cummins shop next door to the Ram dealer in Maumee, Ohio to have the lifters adjusted. The tech came and asked me how many miles was on the truck. When I told him he said it looks like it is brand new.
Now note that I was running 25,000 mile oil change intervals and according to my oil analysis I could have gone longer. So his idea that it is not worth the price is kinda only true if you are dumping your oil at the 7,500 to 10,000 mile mark.

Been running AMZ/OIL since 74 or so. My Dad is the original WA AMZ/OIL Dealer.
I run full 15k changes on my 15 RAM towing a combined 33-35k 1/2 of it's miles. I use the signature series 15-40 with FleetGuard Stratapore filter. As Blackstone says I can go longer once my warranty has expired. - Cummins12V98Explorer III

I buy my full synthetic oil at Menards when they have it on sale and an additional rebate is included.
I usually pay no more than $2 a quart.
I'd never pay $6, $8, $10 a quart for oil.
"FULL SYNTHETIC" for $2 please post a pic of what you are referring to. - Super_DaveExplorerDo all synthetics heat the same? If there were engine heat benefits to one over the other I'd pay a little more.
- ppineExplorer IIGood oil is one of the cheapest things you can buy.
I like Rotella T6 synthetic for the diesel. It helps starting in the winter and does not wear out. - BumpyroadExplorerlets see. I spent $45000 for my truck and I am going to not follow mfrs. recommendation/requirement to save $40.00?
I don't think so.
bumpy - BarabooBobExplorer IIII just had my oil changed at the Ford dealer (first 3 oil changes free because I bought it there) and when I picked it up, the service department manager told me that I was good for 3,000 miles or 3 months. Talk about selling service where it is not needed. The F150 owners manual says to change the oil according to the on dash display, or one year, or 10,000-whichever comes first.
I think that I will go by the Ford engineers recommendations. I do shorten those numbers up a bit, but not by much. - theoldwizard1Explorer IIMotorcraft semi-synthetic is what came in my Ford. That is what I use. You can buy it and Motorcraft filters at Walmart for VERY reasonable prices !

Lol.... the tech that adjusted your valve lash could not havelooked at the miles on the dashboard, but had to ask you!

I've asked my cousin which brand he and the other diesel techs at the shop run and it was basically the conventional oil that the dealer sold
